Monk collecting alm
In Myanmar monks visit house to house in the morning to collect food ( called alm ). Sometimes people in a village set up a place for offering food and other necessary items to the monks. Normally when a new monk or novice arrive into a monastery, a senior monk or novice take him to visit the houses that he knew to get permission for the new comer to collect food. In this picture a student ( who is studying in the monastery ) is helping a monk by carrying the items offered by the people in the village.
