Mogok town
Mogok is famous for its precious gem stones such as jade, ruby, etc. People come here to test their luck digging for a precious stone or two. Mogok can be reached from Mandalay by approximately 182 km road. During the rainy season ( June to October ) the traveling is difficult. Now Mogok is opened for tourism, but only the package tours arranged by tour operators who need to apply for the permission to enter the land of jade.
