Ayeyarwaddy Confluence
Ayeyarwaddy river is formed by two tributaries: Mae Hka and Mali Hka in Kachin state of northern Myanmar. The confluence point or "Myit Sone" in Myanmar language is located about 42 km north of Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin state. Myitkyina can be reached by air from Mandalay or Yangon. Alternative way is to take a slow 30 hrs train ride from Mandalay. Ayeyarwaddy is very important source of life in Myanmar. It provides water, transportation route and natural integrity.
